It is the month of Blogtoberfest, so I have been told… A month of daily blogging. I actually didn’t find out about this until it had already started, but I thought it was done in great spirit, and something which I’d wish to embrace in my own way.

Sometimes it can be difficult to find that bit of extra time to update your blog – there are things to watch on TV, sofas to be lay upon and time to just… do nothing! Even if you do decide to use a bit of that free time that you have to update a neglected blog, what do you say? You haven’t done anything interesting recently, and anyway, who wants to read about it? Well, that’s not in the blogging spirit. Your blog should be for you, and if you enjoy writing it then others will enjoy reading it.

With this in mind I have created a new group on Ravelry – The Blog Hub.

It is a group is for all those people who have a blog and want help with the motivation to keep it active. You don’t have to post every day or every week to be an active blogger, just remember that your blog is there to be enjoyed when you have something to say.

If you feel that you don’t have anything interesting to write about, then maybe other group members can help… Hopefully it will be a central meeting place for the lost and weary blogger, who thinks that their bottle of ‘interesting’ has run dry. Starting points and inspiration for blogging topics will helpfully be found within.

If you already have a blog and wonder how it appears to your readers, why not ask for a critique (you may specify a ‘gentle’ critique if you wish!) and hopefully folks will pitch in with what they think is super, and what might be tweaked just a little.

If you are having trouble deciding on a blogging service, or want some input on how to host pictures, make or use graphics, etc… well, hopefully folks will be here to help and encourage.

You might find a whole group of friends and readers there, too.

So, jump aboard the blogging train. I’m looking for some more links for my ‘friends’ blogs’ page, so if you’d like a link to your own site on here, feel free to leave a link in the ‘add/read comments’ section at the end of this post and I’ll be sure to add them in.
